Lex Weekly was established in July 2024 by its two founders, Kai Challicombe and Callum Lintern. The main principles of Lex Weekly are to provide a free legal newsletter, targeting students interested in the law desiring to educate themselves on current events in commercial law, and becoming ‘commercially aware’.

Lex Weekly is primarily based in Cardiff University, where the executive team currently studies, however the newsletter continues to grow in size with an aim to expand outwards of Cardiff and spread across universities all over the UK. Within the first year of Lex’s website going live, the newsletter reached 38 countries across 5 continents, with articles garnering thousands of views.

So far, Lex Weekly has partnered with several university societies to promote its goals, including Cardiff University’s Law Society for the Winter Writer Scheme and its respective Women In Law Society for the Women’s Commercial Week.

Lex typically rotates its writing team on a semester-to-semester basis, although some writers decide to become permanent team members. You can find more information about the executive team and the permanent writing team below.
