What is the deal, and why is this important?

Recently, Linklaters advised robotics and technology company RoboSense on a HK$1 billion share placing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. This move plans to aid in funding RoboSense’s research and development growth and expanding production facilities both in China and abroad, as well as building new strategic partnerships.

This deal shows growing investor confidence in the robotics and autonomous vehicle sectors, despite wider economic uncertainty, as well as revealing how law firms like Linklaters are adapting to meet the needs of clients in emerging industries. As more companies look to raise funds post-IPO, firms with strong equity capital markets (ECM) experience will become increasingly important. By advising on this deal, Linklaters is not only helping RoboSense scale its operations, but are also reinforcing its reputation in the tech and capital markets space. This is a strong position for the firm, as demand grows for legal advisers who can handle complex, cross-border transactions in rapidly evolving sectors.
